Join us for the art of bookmaking. Enjoy a Crafternoon at Central with award-winning illustrator R. Gregory Christie as he teaches cartooning and bookmaking. The Black History Month program draws attention to the cultural heritage of jazz through Jazz Baby picture book illustrations and the rhythm and rhymes of language.
Access to the author event is free and audience members may reserve a book signing ticket or Crafternoon seat for chances to win author exclusives. When you register, you will have the option to pre-order signed copies from Scribes & Vibes or contribute to the adopt a book program. You do not have to purchase a book or make a monetary donation to attend in-person author events or virtual author visits, however, reservations for the February 25th cartooning and bookbinding class are required.
Reserve your seat now, then prepare to join us for an art of the book workshop. It is free and open to the public and patrons are free to use public paid parking, rideshares, and/or Marta.

MOBILE TICKETING & REGISTRATION TYPES
Culture Pass:
The "Culture Pass" serves as our general admission ticket. Your general admission ticket will allow you to join us during the Black History Month Festival at Central Library. This ticket provides an opportunity for you to secure free tickets to the library program.
VIP Pass:
The "VIP Pass" serves as our front row seat reservation ticket. Your VIP ticket will allow you to attend the festival and reserve a Jazz Baby Bookmaking Workshop seat. This ticket type provides an opportunity for you to secure a free ticket to the cartooning and bookbinding class. Reservations are limited to school age children, ages 5—12 years old, and are available on a first come, first served basis.
Backstage Pass:
The "Backstage Pass" serves as our book signing ticket. Your book signing ticket will allow you to attend the festival and enter the book signing line. This ticket type provides an opportunity for you to meet the author and get your books personalized.
PRE-ORDER BOOKS
To purchase signed copies of the book featured during this author event, you may visit the Scribes & Vibes Bookshop or select a book signing ticket with your Eventbrite registration. Copies of Jazz Baby will be available for pick after the bookmaking workshop on February 25, 2023 at Central Library. Signed copies delivered to virtual audience members will not be personalized.
Proceeds from your book purchase(s) will benefit the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation.
