Black Librarianship

Black Librarianship is a tribute exhibition honoring culture, community, and library collections. Explore The Quest To Preserve Culture and Create Community through curated book collections that invite you to read, reflect, and revel.

Together, we will examine culture and community through the lens of librarianship, broaden our understanding of the humanities in public libraries, and reflect on questions that shape our human story:

● How do the arts leave evidence of human behavior?

● What counts as art in a given culture?

● Who creates art, and why does artistic expression matter?

● What universal themes transcend time and place?

● In what ways has art helped you understand the human experience or unjudge someone?
